Analysing film versions of Act 4 Scene 1
An essay writing activity that explores how different directors have dramatised Act 4 Scene 1. Students watch two different interpretations then make notes on the following aspects of the production:
- setting
- costume
- witches
- atmosphere and special effects
- colour
- music
- language.
The next task asks students to compile their own 'directorial' ideas the use these to complete the task - 'Study and compare at least two different interpretations of Act 4 Scene 1, then discuss how you would direct the scene.'
