Language devices speed dating
A fun oral activity for students to revise persuasive techniques. With half the class sitting and the other half moving, it's a dynamic and memorable way for students to find out about the specific effects of each language device.
Each student assumes the role of a persuasive technique and asks questions of their partner. They swap, then move on. Once everyone has a finished sheet, the dates are over and students find out if they identified the techniques correctly.
The resource includes a task sheet for a range of persuasive terms. There are a couple of blank cards at the end to add your choice.
This flexible resource could instead be used to revise characters from any text, literary terms or a selection of key vocabulary.
