This sample shows the worked examples for expanding single brackets and collecting like terms.

1. 5(2x+4)+3(2x-5)=10x+20+6x-15  

Answer - 16x+5

2. 6(2x+5)-2(3x-2)=12x+30-6x+4   
Remember: (-2)× (-2)= +4

Answer - 6x+34

3. 3(4x-1)-5(2x+3)=12x-3-10x-15 
Remember: (-5)× (+3)= (-15)

Answer - 2x-18
