Whispers game: fractions

A maths resource in our Whispers game series, focusing on fractions of amounts and working backwards to find the original amount.

This is a group task about mathematical communication and attention to detail.

Students play in groups of 4. Each player has to either work out a fraction of a number or work back to find the original number. After their turn, each player will fold over the strip of paper so the next player will only see the last answer.

The idea is to end up with the same number that you started with or be able to work out what mathematical or communication error was made along the way.
