The Coronation of King Charles III – non-chronological report
A non-chronological report writing activity to support children in years 2 and 3 in writing a report on the Coronation of King Charles III. The resource includes guidance, a template and a checklist of success criteria.
Tips included in the resource:
A good report has a title so that everyone knows what it is about. This is the first thing you see when reading a report and it is at the top of the first page.
Just below the title, you will find a couple of sentences that give some important information about the event, such as when it happened, where it was or why it was a special day. This is called an introduction.
A good report will group information into chunks that are about the same thing. This makes it easier for people to understand all the different things you want to talk about. You can give each of these sections a sub-heading. This is like a mini title that describes just what that section is about.
