In conversation with host Joe Dale, Helen Myers talks about the changes to the modern foreign languages GCSE (French, German and Spanish) for first teaching in 2024 and first assessment in 2026.

They start by discussing the timeline for the GCSE reforms and the background to those reforms. Helen then gives a very clear and helpful analysis of the DfE's new subject content and of Ofqual's requirements and guidance, touching on how the different exam boards have responded in their draft French specifications. Helen also offers advice on getting ready for the 2024 curriculum, recommending research and resources by fellow languages experts Adam Lamb, Sue Cave and Oliver Hopwood.
